KBS, a $250 million construction services firm located in Richmond, was named one of the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s Top Workplaces for 2019.
Only 65 companies were named Top Workplaces by Richmond Times-Dispatch in 2019. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“At KBS, our motto is ‘Building Relationships.’ We believe that long-term partnerships begin with the relationships developed on each project,” said KBS president and CEO Bill Paulette. “And that is directly tied to the commitment of our employees. Several of our staff have been here 20 years or more and I think that is a testament to the family atmosphere at KBS.”
Among the employee comments cited in KBS’s survey results were this: “I find the most rewarding part of working with KBS is the relationships built within our ranks, clients, subcontractors and our community.”
“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”
