KBS is proud to celebrate Women in Construction (WIC) Week on March 7-13, 2021 along with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
Throughout the week, KBS will highlight women who play an important role in the success of the firm. Many will also participate in a week-long schedule of activities held by NAWIC’s Richmond Chapter 141.
The focus of WIC Week is to highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry. It is also a time for local chapters to give back to their communities. WIC Week provides an occasion for NAWIC’s thousands of members across the country to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the construction industry and to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry.
“While there are almost one million women employed in the construction industry, this is only ten percent of the total construction workforce. These women, regardless of the position they hold, are vital members of the construction team,” says Sam Stocks, KBS vice president of operations. “’Women in Construction Week’ is a wonderful time to thank women for their commitment to the construction industry and to show others that construction is a viable, profitable career field.”
