Lewis B. Puller Science Center

The LEED Silver certified, 12,000-square-foot Puller Science Center is home to the school’s unique science department, and features state-of-the-art laboratories for the biology, physics, chemistry, environmental, and marine science programs.

The project includes aquarium and aquaculture tanks; research areas; flexible classroom space; and equipment for real-time data monitoring and research. The atrium was designed to offer views of the Rappahannock River and maximize available natural light reducing the need for artificial lighting.

Christchurch, long a local leader in protecting the Rappahannock River and the Chesapeake Bay, is increasing its efforts to enable students to take full advantage of the river and bay in their scientific studies, while also incorporating these assets across the entire curriculum. The Science Center is the cornerstone in Christchurch School’s master plan.
