The Current is a full-block mixed-use development in Richmond’s Manchester neighborhood. It includes multi-residential, office, and retail spaces creating a small community with shared common spaces featuring a ground-level courtyard and pool. These are accessed via a public plaza connecting 4th and Hull Streets that fronts the residential and office lobby, as well as the corner retail space.
On all sides of the block, the buildings have ground-level pedestrian-access spaces including a gym, ground-floor retail and two-story residential lofts. The 67,848-square-feet, six-story Class A office building features a rooftop terrace, grand two-story lobby and floor-to-ceiling windows. The 215-unit multi-residential building also includes studios and one- and two-bedroom units. Amenities include a a large lobby with gathering areas, demonstration kitchen, meeting rooms, a dog park, a courtyard with an infinity edge pool with sundeck cabanas, grilling stations and fire pits. Four levels of wood-frame construction over a concrete podium are designed to wrap the development’s above-grade, 323-vehicle parking garage.
