Two KBS project teams were honored for high standards in quality and safety during the first quarter of 2018.
The Artisan Hill team received the safety award. The team is made up of Liz Blanks, project assistant; Brich Keifer, project engineer; Christopher Bryant, project manager and Darren Campbell and Michael Greer, superintendents. Located in Richmond’s Fulton Hill neighborhood near Rocketts Landing, Artisan Hill is a 153,610-square-foot new construction multi-residential development with 204 units. It has one-and two-bedroom apartment units, a 75-foot lap pool, athletic field, rooftop deck, ceramics studio and café.
“A huge ‘thank you’ goes to the project team for their diligence towards safety. It truly does take a team effort to execute a successful project. Not only did the team avoid repeat violations, most site inspections resulted in minimal to no violations,” said Mark Lambert, corporate safety director.
The quality award was given to the Heronview Apartments team consisting of April Shumate, project assistant; Josh Nay, project manager and Pat Cosgrove and Jackson Spivey, superintendents. The team is working on the four-story, 120,000-square-foot affordable workforce housing development with 96 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments units in Sterling, Va.
“The Heronview Apartment Team has been performing at a higher rate of quality since day one. This team is focused on not only executing the specifications of the project, but also staying engaged with the project design to ensure that all details and installation procedures are complete prior to their completion onsite. Preconstruction meetings, mock-ups, first installation meetings and follow-up inspections have been executed daily. This team has been doing an excellent job executing both QA and QC,” said Matt Kamstra, corporate quality director.
